Written by Brandi Jackson
Delightful weather, a fabulous charity, fantastic cocktails and delicious food! The only thing that made the night even better, were all of the fabulous guests! Our March First Friday was a roaring success and we can’t thank everyone enough for helping us celebrate another monumental event. Save the date for an extra special April First Friday 4/3/15 from 6–9.
Kicking off the night was the always entertaining Nick Peterson manning the bar and serving up delicious Lean Vodka cocktails. Newly introduced to the Tampa area, Lean Vodka is a low-calorie vodka that is infused with ginseng, .….. . Nick mixed up the Strawberry Fizz cocktails featuring Leans vanilla infused vodka. This cocktail was easily a crowd favorite and we are very appreciative to Lean for providing the drink of the night. Be sure to check out Lean Vodka’s Facebook page for taste samplings throughout the city and try their other fabulous vodka flavors. Don’t forget to contact Nick about personal training and bootcamps on your quest to lean up for the summer. You can email Nick at CPTPeety@gmail.com. In addition, check out Nick’s Facebook page for exciting announcements regarding a podcast roll out coming soon.
We graciously welcomed back Family Table Catering as they provided scrumptious and healthy bites for the night. Their chicken wraps with yogurt sauce are simply divine and the spring beet salad was so amazingly fresh and light. So much more than just a traditional catering company, Family Table also has meal delivery options for singles to large families! Working with local farmers, butchers and bakers, Family Table provides fresh, local comfort food straight to your table. It’s like having your own personal Nona cooking for you. Check out their menus online and have fresh, delicious meals on your table in no time. Rounding out the deliciousness of the night, Dulce DeMesa Cupcakes! Taylor provided us with some fabulous chocolate cupcakes that were simply scrumptious! Keep your eyes open for her cupcake truck which should be hitting the roads of Tampa soon, follow her on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for updates.
Finally, a huge thank you to all who brought in and made donations to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay, our spotlight charity for the night. We collected not only monetary donations but also serval bags of food, treats and toys for animals in need. Thank you all for your generosity and thank you to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay for being a part of our First Friday celebration. When we dropped of the donations, we had the honor of meeting Bart, the Miracle Cat! Don’t forget the Bark in the Park is quickly approaching, this is a family (both two and four legged) friendly fundraiser for the Humane Society of Tampa Bay filled with music, food trucks and even beer! Check out their website for more information, how to raise funds for, participate in or sponsor the Bark in the Park event on March 21st from 11-3pm at the Contanchobee Fort Brooke Park in downtown Tampa.
