Red Carpet to home

Written by

It’s Award Season and as we stay tuned to who’s winning on stage, we also pay VERY close attention to the winners on the red carpet.  Fashion and home strongly influence each other and always have.  How you dress yourself, often speaks of how you dress your home.  We picked some of the BEST dressed at Golden Globes 2014 and paired them with favorite decor pieces for a ‘get the look’ Red Carpet style.  Who were your favorites?

golden globes - lupita pmLupita Nyong’o in Ralph Lauren, Fred Leighton and Monica Rich Kosann — nominated for Best Supporting Actree in “12 Years A Slave”

The classic red tailored cape gown complements the lines of home items : Edmond Lamp by Arteriors Home ; Parsons Side Table — red by Bungalow 5

golden globes - blanchett pmCate Blanchett in Armani Prive, Jimmy Choo, Chopard — won an award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama for her role in “Blue Jasmine”

The timeless 1920’s inspired black lace sheer gown is similar to the Caviar Fixed Cluster Pendant — smoke by Arteriors Home.  AND as if the front wasn’t enough a showstopper; the cutout back had beautiful curves like the Queen Anne Mirror — black by Jonathan Adler

golden globes - juli pmJulianna Margulies in Andrew Gn — nominated for Best Actress, Drama Series for her role in “The Good Wife”

It is difficult to go wrong with a black gown and especially one that fits as beautifully as this one, not to mention the coral detail.  Could not be more perfect of a complement to the Naia Coral and Lucite Table Lamp — gold by Made Goods and the classic lacquered Jacqui 4-Drawer Chest — black by Bungalow 5

golden globes - olivia pmOlivia Wilde in Gucci, Emm Kuo — attended as a presenter of an award at the 2014 Golden Globes

Her baby bump was sparkling under an embellished emerald gown.  Sleek, sophisticated and fitted, the dress was perfect for the mother-to-be.  The fluidity of  the Botany Bay Artwork  also shines under a glasscoating.  Her gold metal clutch reminds us of the metallic detail on the Luxembourg Horse Trinket Box by Jonathan Adler

golden globes - julie pmJulie Bowen in Carolina Herrera, Jimmy Choo — part of  “Modern Family” cast nominated for Best Television Series, Comedy or Musical

Velvet and silk tailored to her slim figure highlighted the Pantone Color of the year, Radiant Orchid. Love the pouf sleeves!  The Flamingo Chandelier by Currey & Company and Paisley Medallion Pillow — red by Nanette Lepore  show how to pop these colors into your home, whether a decorative accessory or statement lighting!

golden globes - sandra pm Sandra Bullock in Prabal Gurung — nominated for Best Actress in Motion Picture, Drama for her role in the movie “Gravity”

She may not have taken home the award, but she brought the drama!  Bold color blocking of satin with modern lines show her curves.  Top-to-bottom sheen like the Pagoda Lamps by Worlds Away : Pagoda Table Lamp — pink ; Pagoda Table Lamp — light blue

golden globes - drew pmDrew Barrymore in Monique Lhullier, Roger Vivier, Edie Parker, Lorraine Schwartz - attended as a presenter of an award at the 2014 Golden Globes

A baby bump and radiating glow were the best accessories to pull off this whimsical fresh Spring look!  Simplified with red lips and red shoes, left much room for play of dimensional flowing floral applique of red and orchid.  Another fabulous use of Pantone 2014.  Get the look with these items : Venus Pendant — hot pink by Worlds Away ; White Lacquer Box with Flower — pink

golden globes - emilia pmEmilia Clarke in Proenza Schouler, Sidney Garber — cast member of Game of Thrones - attended as a presenter of an award at the 2014 Golden Globes

Her naturally curvaceous body was wrapped in a structured architectural strapless gown.  While the tiny intricate detail of this fabric is black and white it goes well with the repetitive detail in the Powell Coffee Table — silver by Worlds Away and  overlapping aluminum petals on our Yvette Pendant Light

The Red Carpet is similar to a runway and is usually a designers way of bringing their latest designs from Fashion Shows in Milan or New York to be televised to the masses.  Market season for home decor and furniture is similar to seeing what’s new and hot — then we at Clayton Gray Home, do our job of bringing the fabulous finds to you.  We hope you enjoy and stay tuned for more Red Carpet Home inspiration to follow each award show.
