Versatile Pieces To Transform Any Room

Written by

When investing in quality pieces, we are always pleased to find versatile pieces that can have multiple uses and the ability to be easily switched around.  Like many of the Buy One Get One deals at the grocery store, these pieces always give you two(or more)options for the price of one!

Also keep in mind, just because you don’t have the right space in mind, if you find a great piece for an amazing deal, go for one of these options below and you will be able to find a use in no time…guaranteed!

We’ve put together a list of a few of our favorite, versatile “key pieces” that can serve numerous purposes and give you that extra bang for your buck!

1.  Chest of Drawers– These have moved out of the bedroom and are making appearances in entryways and powder rooms, a like.  For an entryway, you still have drawers for storage.  Many smaller chests also make the perfect housing for a statement vanity piece. 2.  Console Table–Not only does this narrow, high profile table serve as the perfect catchall in an entry way or a perfect base to hold lamps and decorative items behind a sofa, it also serves as a perfect desk for smaller spaces.  An ideal height for desk or behind the sofa options is 33–36 inches in height. 3.  Demilune Table– This piece works perfectly as a nightstand. Rounded fronts and edges help insure no bumps in the night when moving around in the dark. They also make great hallway pieces due to their narrow profile.  Two demilunes can be placed together to make a round entry table, as well. (Photo courtesy of Houzz/The Classy Cottage)

4.  Bench– Benches are wonderful in bedrooms, at the foot of the bed, for seating or holding clothing. Visually, the bench is a key piece that helps anchor the bed. In smaller spaces, benches work wonders in entryways or when used as coffee tables. (Photo courtesy of Papillionlinens.blogspot.com)

5.  Poufs– We at CGH love poufs!  Not only do they add a fun pop to any room, they offer extra seating or a footrest in a snap!  Add a few to any family or guest room and you will never have to worry about lugging extra seating in from another room! (Photo courtesy of Decorpad/Alice Lane Home)

6.  Pair of Chairs– Always keep a few basic chairs on hand. They always come in handy for extra dinner guests, more seating for conversations around the fireplace, or the perfect addition to any office space.  (Photo courtesy of Livecreatingyourself.com)

7.  Ottomans–An ottoman in lieu of a coffee table in the family room is the only way to go— no worries about putting your feet up and kicking back. If you have the need for a hard surface for a drink or food, just add a tray and voila! (Photo courtesy of Ginger Barber/Cotedetexas.blogspot.com)
