Scalamandré

Don’t fear wallpaper. It is a fantastic! Simple way to introduce bold pattern into your room. One of our favorites is by Scalamandré featuring running zebras with arrows chasing them. In the 1940’s, Gino of Capri, a new Italian restaurant owner in New York’s Upper East Side came to his friends for a unique wallpaper. Design was influenced by Flora Scalamandré’s original artwork. Although the restaurant recently closed its doors, the wallpaper lives on.
In the Fall 2011, La Dolce Vita collection, Scalamandré introduced their classic Zebra pattern as a fabric and thus the rage continues. The classic colors are Masai Red, Yellow, Safari Brown, and Serengeti Green.
There is desire for all things zebra. Our Dwell Studio pillows are flying off the shelves! They add a little “umph” of color and bold pattern.
