Written by Brandi Jackson
This month our First Friday celebration coincides with National Wear Red Day. We are teaming up the with American Heart Association for this event. Wear red, come in and do some Valentines Day shopping, visit with friends, get some heart health tips from TGH nurses, stress reduction tips from yoga instructors and if you make a donation to the American Heart Association — you will receive a $25 gift card to use at Clayton Gray Home during the month of February. We want to show you that we love you with our whole heart and more! We will have cocktails and heart healthy nibbles available for our guests as well. If you aren’t in the Tampa area, never fear, we have you covered. We created a Heart Health Pinterest board with lots of tips, recipes, guidelines, videos and other heart health educational tools. What are ways that you can help improve your heart health? Foods, exercise, stress relief and more. Click on our Pinterest link and be informed.

Did you know that heart attack symptoms are different for women than for men? And that heart attacks in woman are one of the most misdiagnosed conditions? It is also well documented that women will take aspirin with the onset of early heart attack symptoms but will be resistant to calling 911. If you feel the need to take the aspirin, you need to call 911. Also, a little tip, in order to be seen quicker at the hospital arrive by ambulance. As women, many of us feel as though we are overreacting and don’t want to be a bother so we won’t call 911. If you think you may be suffering a heart attack, IT IS TIME TO BE A BOTHER. Be educated and be aware so that if you, or someone you love ever suffers any of these symptoms you can be proactive and not reactive.
Come celebrate Go Red Day with us this Friday and check out Clayton Gray Home’s “Go Red” link on our website, there’s no reason that your home can’t celebrate Go Red day also!
