First Friday Go Red Recap

Despite the cold, drizzly weather, our February First Friday was a great success! Since our celebration fell on National Wear Red Day, we decided to spotlight the American Heart Association and women’s heart health.  Shoppers sipped on festive Kir Royales and munched on heart healthy appetizers, courtesy of the Go Red Pinterest page, of salmon crostini and fresh veggies with avocado-cilantro hummus.

Shoppers were able to donate online to the American Heart Association, and in exchange received a $25 Clayton Gray Home gift card. We are excited to report that we raised $590 in just a couple of hours! The Clayton Gray Home team page is still active and going strong!! If you weren’t able to attend First Friday in person and would like to donate, please click this link to find our Clayton Gray Home page.  Donate any amount, print out the confirmation and bring into the shop for $25 Gift Card.

The American Heart Association-Tampa Bay  donated Go Red dress pins for all of our attendees. So fabulous! Shoppers read about warning signs, risks of heart attacks and how women’s symptoms are different than men. A shocking fact, heart disease is the number one killer of women in the United States? It kills more than all forms of cancer combined. We were lucky to have Cecilia Vargas, a RN from Tampa General Hospital on hand to talk with guests about risks, important numbers to know and how to improve your heart health. In addition, to help us to hone in on our zen and find our chi, Kerrie Mersereau from Evolation Yoga talked about the benefits of yoga and meditation for stress relief and heart health. Special thanks to Evolation Yoga for the free class cards for our guests!

The evening wasn’t all about learning and statistics, many of our guests knocked a few things off of their Valentine’s Day shopping lists. Yes, we do believe some even did some shopping for themselves. Fabulously Fun First Fridays.…a night not to be missed. See you all next month!

(PS, there is still time to check out our Valentine’s Day link)
