Elle Decor is one of our go-to publications for design inspiration. Every year they have industry insiders pick their favorite spaces of the year. Although a year never seems very long, it is amazing to see how trends evolve.  Join us as we take you on a trip down memory lane with Elle Decors Best Rooms of 2013. Some of these rooms and items we pinned on our Pinterest pages as favorites. You will also see some items that are available at Clayton Gray Home.

A kitchen by Miles Redd. Initially, when you think of a black and white kitchen you think of the 1950s. Not so with this fantastic design. Classic subway tiles, oversized light fixtures, industrial furntiure and an unexpectedly striking tiger print on the wall are a far cry from your typical retro diner look. This design, with its unexpected pop of pink screams chic and now! Clayton Gray Home can help you achieve this look in your kitchen, right down to the tiger print. We also have a great selection of industrial style lighting and stools.

Apartment 34. This Hampton’s livingroom created by Erin Hiemstra, is not only stunning but also livable. “When creating a space, I’m always trying to achieve the perfect balance between welcoming comfort and a little wow factor.” Well Erin, we think that you nailed it!  Stylishly chic and functional with impecccable details.

A livingroom by Kelli Wilde and Laurent Champeau. Take a trip to Paris in this beautiful apartment. “This Paris apartment couldn’t be more perfect! A little bit of tradition, a dash of rock-and-roll, and copious amounts of good taste make this home feel modern, but still balanced and graceful” –Jenny Komenda, Little Green Notebook.

Bejeweled Kitchens. This is a fabulous design from Kelly Wearstler and Stephen Gambrel. These two designers, recognizing that the kitchen is the heart of the home, have shown it some chic and sophisticated love. Kitchen cabinets painted in a gorgeous emeral green, Pantones 2013 color of the year, accented with luxurious brass highlights and hardware. Dramatic countertops and backsplash make this kitchen the epitome of culinary glamour.

Agate and agate surfaces. A while back we blogged about the wonders and healing qualities of agate and just take a look at what the future holds! Can’t you just see a gorgeous open kitchen with these fabulously amazing countertops?! That’s right, move aside granite.…agate is taking over. Don’t worry if you can’t afford agate countertops and surfaces for your home, we have plenty of agate options available so you can add this beautiful stone to your decor. Check out our accessories category on the website for some fabulous coasters, and bookends with agate and our lighting category has some very unique agate lamps, sconces and chandeliers.

Hair on Hide. The animal trend continues and popular hide rugs are moving on up…to your furniture that is. In the coming months, several furniture lines will allow you the option of covering sofas, chairs, and even tables and consoles in shorter summer hair or longer and curlier winter fur. Let Clayton Gray Home bring out the animal in your living room with our “Get the Look” zebra-hide home decor.
