CGH Picks: Our Favorite Looks From Kip’s Bay Show House 2013
Written by Clayton Gray Home
A luxury townhouse in Manhattan’s Central Park is where Kips Bay Decorator Show House has transformed rooms with color and creation this year!
Large rooms with lots of natural light and detailing has given designer’s the perfect backdrop to show off bold ideas and emerging trends this season. Not only are these designer’s showing off their knowledge and creativity, but also using their powers for a good cause. All proceeds from ticket purchases support the Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club.
If you’re not in the NYC vicinity, have no fear, CGH has picked some of our favorite photos from Houzz to give you a sneak peek and start your mind swirling with ideas for your next big project!
We love the use of luxurious fabrics, gilded furnishings, and jewel tones used throughout this living room designed by Andrew Suvalsky. This look has an mid-century/hollywood glamour looking going on and we cannot get enough! He said his inspiration was spring at nighttime…we’re totally buying it!
Next up we have the Lounge Suite designed by Garcia/Maldonado. The neutral backdrop is played up with metallic accessories, pops of orange and a life sized photo of Kate Moss observing your every move! Love the juxtaposition in this room and think the lounge seating would be the perfect place to cozy up and read a book or catch up with an old friend over cocktails!
On the subject of reading, this Atrium designed by Huniford Design Studio is another place we might find ourselves spending some quality time. With all of its natural light, sunny pops of fabric and plant life, even on the cloudiest days, we wouldn’t mind being trapped in doors one bit!
Texture, pattern, and color…Kathryn Ireland has built an empire around these three words, and this bedroom designed for the Kips Bay townhouse displays just that! Not to disappoint, Kathryn has pulled out all the stops from the detailed carvings on the bed, the chair, the flocked wall coverings, and the layering of reds, blues and flowers leave you amazed and inspired on so many levels!
Did we catch your attention? Jack Levy Design’s Living Room brings colorful quirkiness of fish wallpaper mixed with bold colored textiles to leave your appetite for color satisfied! Loved how the saturated colors pop off of the charcoal background in this room.
Eve Robinson Associates plays up purple in this modern family room that reflects fun and lively pops, while also being practical and offering up the perfect spot to watch movies or outside activities, all from the comfort of your living room!
Just in case you’ve been living under a rock(or not keeping up with our past blogs) we are obsessed with Python at CGH! From lamps to accessories, we love it all! When we saw this Receiving Lounge designed by Robert Brown Interior Design, we stopped in our tracks! Love the python fabric wrapped walls and warmth of taupes and browns with minimal accents in varying shades of oranges and reds!
After looking through all of these photos, we’ve been inspired…how about you?
If you’re in the NYC area, you MUST go see this townhome for inspiration on so many levels!
