Weathered Metals
Written by Clayton Gray Home
Vintage, weathered metals are all the rage right now and be it bronze, zinc, or iron, we at CGH are all about metal mania!
For example, we love how an aged patina on brass can juxtapose a modern acrylic piece or how an industrial bar cart can marry seamlessly with a living room full of soft, romantic upholstery.
Metal is a nice way to add more of a linear, dynamic edge, to an otherwise soft, textile laden room. Keep in mind, a little goes a long way. Too many metal pieces can take a funky art-deco inspired room to more of a kitschy catch-all, if the right elements are not counterbalanced.
Mixing and matching materials can be a great way to add interest without overwhelming. If the room is all dark wood, integrate some other materials into your color schemes. Opt for metal coffee and end tables and bright, but streamlined seating. Use wooden and metal picture frames on the same walls.
Here are few of our favorite weathered metal pieces that we cannot get enough of, right now!
