CGH Takes Inspiration: Hollywood Regency
Written by Clayton Gray Home
We at CGH love Hollywood Regency Style and the recent re-emergence of it with the release of Kelly Wearstler’s latest book, Rhapsody.
When one hears the term, names such as Wearstler and Dorothy Draper immediately come to mind. By combining elements of Hollywood Glamour, 40’s through the 60’s accessories, and a touch of traditional, this fresh, vintage look has us begging for more!
Also, best described by Jonathan Adler, “I define Hollywood Regency as Neo-classical lines mixed with Hollywood glamour and a top note of mod moxie. Hollywood Regency was a style of architecture and decoration popular in the 60s in LA that was a revival of classical regency style through a modern lens. Hollywood Regency added a layer of pattern and decoration and opulence and glamour to the minimalism of mid-century modernism.”
Here are a few of our favorite pieces that will have you transforming your pad into a modern marvel even Kelly and Dorothy would approve of!
