Runway to Room : Mustard to Blue
Written by Clayton Gray Home
Matthew Williamson Fall 2012 shows one of our favorite combos: mustard and blue. You may recognize this designer from his collaboration with H&M (starting 2010) called ‘MUSE’ which brings bold patterns and his award-winning style from the runway to the streets.
Combining silk, cashmere and cotton with embellishments of sequence and metallic, updates the classic silhouettes to youthful versatility. His collection reminds us that just because the leaves will change colors, your wardrobe doesn’t have to. Incorporate these colors into your decor & attire to constantly surround yourself with the warmth & happiness of Summer.
(Top Left to Bottom Right): Ponti Entertainment Center by Worlds Away ; Chelsea Stools by Emissary ; Peacock Tray-Square by Dwell Studio ; Angelica Mirror by Made Goods ; Pagoda Table Lamp-Light Blue by Worlds Away
Although there is little need for a neutral to balance these 2 colors, we do recommend creams, caramels, brown and camel. Splash one of these Martha Living paint colors on your wall to instantly brighten your room!
Do you have this color combo in your home? Send us your photos to possibly be featured on this blog.
